What does a sex coach do?
There are many different approaches within the sexual wellness space, and sex coaching is one of them.
Sex coaching blends conversation and embodied exploration, where you learn to connect with and listen to your body. It creates space to talk through questions, patterns, and experiences, while also bringing attention into the body so the learning becomes something you can feel and integrate on a somatic level.
This work also takes a holistic approach, recognizing that our relationship to sex is shaped by many parts of our lives, not just what happens in the bedroom.
As a coach, one of my main intentions is to support growth through both insight and embodied practice. This may include sexual education, exploring and unpacking limiting beliefs, and offering home practices to help you build connection with your body between sessions.
My work is currently focused on supporting women who are wanting to explore their relationship with sex, pleasure, embodiment, and intimacy. Each person comes with their own unique experiences, and we start by listening to what feels most present in your body and your life.
Some reasons you might seek a sex coach:
You feel disconnected from your body, sensation, or pleasure
You find yourself stuck in your head during sex
You struggle to feel desire
You want to understand what truly turns you on
You notice patterns of performance or pressure during sex
You have difficulty receiving touch or pleasure
You’re unsure what you like or how to communicate it
You experience tension, discomfort, or numbness in your body
You carry shame, guilt, or confusion around sex and desire
You want to feel more confident expressing your needs and boundaries
You’re navigating challenges in intimacy within a relationship
You feel like your current sexual experiences aren’t fully satisfying
You want to expand your capacity for pleasure and sensation
You’re curious about exploring your body in a deeper, more connected way
You sense there’s more available to you, but aren’t sure how to access it
What this work can support you in experiencing
Through this work, many clients begin to feel more at home in their bodies.
There can be a softening of pressure, a deeper sense of somatic (the body) awareness, and a growing ability to stay present with sensation rather than trying to get somewhere. Over time, this often opens the door to more ease and a deeper relationship with pleasure.
You may begin to:
Feel more connected to your body and your desires
Understand your arousal patterns and what supports it
Feel more ease and presence in sexual intimacy
Build confidence in expressing your needs and boundaries
Expand your capacity for pleasure, sensation, and receiving
What working together can look like
Sessions are collaborative, and we work together in a way that feels the most supportive for your pace and growth.
We might talk through what you’re noticing, explore patterns or beliefs that are shaping your experience, and bring in simple, grounded practices that help you connect with your body in a safe and supported way.
Sometimes this means we’re exploring things that may not seem directly related to sex, but are deeply connected to how you experience intimacy and pleasure.
The work is about getting curious about yourself and your body, and learning to meet this as an unfolding, ever evolving journey with yourself.
Between sessions, you’ll be invited into “home practices” that help deepen what we explore, so the work becomes something you can embody and carry into your life.
A holistic approach to sexual wellness
Often, people come in with a specific sexual concern. And sometimes, where we begin has very little to do with sex itself.
This is because how we relate to ourselves outside the bedroom shapes how we show up inside the bedroom.
Your relationship to stress, your capacity to feel and stay present, your environment, your past experiences, your beliefs, your health, and your relationship to pleasure in everyday life all play a role in your sexual wellbeing.
Rather than isolating sex as its own separate category, I work holistically. We look at the full picture of your life and how it’s impacting your ability to connect, feel, and receive.
Foundations like embodiment, nervous system regulation, and your relationship to pleasure in daily life are often where we begin.
The pelvis is also an important area within this work. It plays a central role in how we move, feel, and hold tension in the body, and is often where stress and protective patterns are stored. As we build awareness and connection here, patterns of tension can begin to soften, creating more space for sensation, improving blood flow and responsiveness, and supporting a deeper sense of presence and access to pleasure.
As you meet yourself where you are and stay curious about what your body needs, you begin to create the conditions for change to unfold.
A closing note
This isn’t about fixing you. You’re not broken.
We are all shaped by systems that often didn’t teach us how to listen to our bodies or advocate for what we need.
The more we become aware of the ways our somatic and erotic growth has been impacted by the systems we were born into, and even our environment, culture, community, or religion, the more we can begin to unpack the unhelpful stories we have internalized.
From there, we can start to create new ones that support who we are as sensual and sexual beings..
